New course for January 2025! The 17 CE hour Massage in a Hospital Setting online course will introduce you to performing massage on the adult hospital patient. It outlines indications, contraindications, technique adjustments, and client positioning to provide massage therapy to adults in the hospital. This course also provides information on topics that you may encounter when treating hospital patients such as infection control, common medications and procedures, and hospital equipment.
This course will present information on:
- Hospital-based massage therapy
- Pressure, site, and positioning techniques for working with hospital patients
- Gathering information before a hospital massage session - referrals, orders, and intake forms
- Common hospital equipment you may see
- Making massage application adjustments for certain medications
- Aromatherapy massage sessions in health care
- Massage treatment when a client is nearing the end of life
- Sample client intake forms and the importance of documentation
