Functional Anatomy: Advanced Palpation - 21 CE Hours

New course for July 2024! The 21 CE hour Functional Anatomy: Advanced Palpation course is so much more than your average anatomy course! Today’s massage therapists are essential members of the healthcare team and must have a clear understanding of muscle and joint function beyond location and simple actions. Outlining musculoskeletal anatomy, kinesiology, and advanced palpation techniques, this course will help you to understand where anatomical structures are located and how they work together to create motion.

The textbook helps therapists to understand the body’s structures, regions, and layers, from bones to ligaments to superficial and deep muscles. Muscle descriptions include origin, insertion, action, and innervation. The course provides step-by-step instructions with video demonstrations on how to properly palpate each muscle and assess for function. It also outlines joint motion, and passive and resisted range of motion techniques.

This course will present:

• Body structures involved in movement such as bones, ligaments, tendons, fascia, and muscles
• Information about osteology, arthrology, and myology
• Origin, insertion, nerve innervation, and action for each muscle outlined
• Available movements and normal range of motion for each muscle outlined
• Passive, active, and resisted range of motion techniques for each muscle
• 30 minutes of online videos demonstrating palpation techniques for certain muscles

Cael, approximately 30 minutes of online video clips showing how to find and palpate muscles, guide with instructions, exam of 108 questions, course evaluation, certificate of achievement upon completion, and unlimited phone support for any of your questions.
